 A: Malaysian Oak is a plantation grown hardwood from Malaysia.  It is also known as Hevea Brasiliensis

 Q: What are the charecteristics of Malaysian Oak?

A: The main charecteristics are as follows: 

  • Plantation Grown Hardwood - NOT Rainforest Timber

  • Heavy, Solid Wood - Density Rating akin to Birch or Ash

  • Strength Grouping the same as Maple

  • Exceedingly Durable

  • Strong and sturdy - Resists checking (small end cracks)

  • Open grain pattern with some concentric marking

  • Bonds well with industrial adhesives, making it a natural in furniture manufacturing

  • Knots are generally small and scattered

  • Colour: Pale Cream to Yellowish Brown – Perfect for stain or paint!
